The travel procrastinator market

A travel study by Compete Inc bears good news – more than $10 billion worth of summer travel is still up for grabs as travelers procrastinate for various reasons – high prices, traveling conditions, safety and security factors. An amazing 72% of bookings comes from a market still making up its mind…..

Hoteliers reaching out to this market could do well to mix value with creativity. Travelers faced with inertia need more than just dollars off hotel room rates or airline seats. They need to be reminded of the joys of vacationing (just as laggard holiday shoppers need to be reminded of their “forgot someone lists”). Recent research has proven what was already well-known – Americans work longer hours than nearly anyone in the developed world and are prone to missing their well-deserved breaks!
