Positive world tourism trend

The latest UNWTO world tourism report paints a positive outlook for world travel in 2007. 2006 set new records inspite of the ever-present threat of terrorism, pandemics and rising oil prices. Africa leads the list of top destinations with an 8% growth rate, followed by Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas. The hero of the report – the resilient world traveler, unfazed by the prospect of tighter security procedures, global health scares, rising prices and unpredictable weather patterns. The report also proves that economic growth is the best bulwark against global challenges.
