Gay guests

News of hotels welcoming gay visitors to the Big Apple is likely to elicit as much frisson as the opening of a new pizzeria in Manhattan. While, no hotel in New York City caters exclusively to gays (although more than a couple of business plans on those lines have been printed) the city’s hostelry are more than welcoming to gay customers. However, a report on Dallas’s efforts at welcoming gay visitors does warrant newsprint and USA Today obliges with the headline “Forget Texas stereotypes; Dallas welcomes gay visitors”.

The article leads off with “The Old West is old news”. That is welcome news as, if nothing else, it should help stoke tourism dollars both for Dallas and the country as a whole as gay visitors from overseas have more options beyond New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
