A booming boomer market

Cruise vacations and leisure travel are poised for a boom as baby-boomers start a show of strength (in #s) according to Lauraday Kelley, CTC, MCC, vice president Education & Training for Vacation.com. Interestingly, spa vacations (commonly thought to be a pursuit of Gen X & Y) also feature among the hot trends for the rich and the retired!

In another path-breaking study conducted by Canadian scientists, bilinguism or knowing and speaking two languages was thought to delay the onset of dementia (caused mostly by Alzheimer’s disease, the most common scourge of old age). Engaging the brain in the kind of activity (that learning two languages, for example involves) keeps memory cells in fighting good shape! Food for thought?! Vacations that heal the mind and the body don’t sound like a fad anymore!
