January – get off to a great start!

Happy New Year to everyone!

January is the month to catch up on reality – exercising and healthy eating being only two of the activities that suffered in the past few months! The travel industry, no doubt benefits from the New year resolution market. A few hotels are already doing a good job in the get-fit-get-ready-for 07 type packages

– Get fit packages that offer free personal consultation with a trainer, healthful menus during stay, free use of the gym and other specials – introduction to yoga, pilates, well-being workshops. New year resolutions become easier to keep when travelers enjoy a post-holiday break from home and work.

– Medical spas are poised to become the next big thing. A complete medical check-up + pampering spa treatments at a hotel does not seem as outlandish an idea as it would have a few years ago. More and more, people rarely have the time to schedule an annual check-up at their doctors’!

– Get back to the real-world package! Hotels usually capitalize on this market by offering weekend getaways that pack a few relaxing activities at an interesting, quieter destination.

– January is also the prelude to romantic season – February. By offering an early “Valentine’s day” package, hotels could target an audience increasingly stressed out by the prospect of booking a package well enough in time!
