Novel search engine – MSE 360

Guests looking for new ways to trawl the net for hotel deals have yet another option – MSE 360. Launched by an independently financed technology company based in the UK that claims to have a unique product, MSE360 “offers users with a dynamic 3 column search interface, while all the time using the advanced power of popular search engines”. The company says that their product “runs of two formats of search, the first using the API’s (application programming interface) provided by some of the larger search companies in the industry. MSE360 also uses its own custom build spider. The spider (informally known as Fred) has been created for a low cost high index format of processing. Within the coming months users will be able to download the spider onto their computers and help MSE360”.

MSE’s USP is its “three tier search result design”. For example a search for New York Hotels results in output from blogs, Wikipedia and the internet on a single page that is not only comprehensive but also fairly appealing. MSE also uses stopbadware.org to forewarn users of potentially damaging websites. The company also claims to “provide the best results in the industry user’s activity via clicks with affect the rankings of the results. The more clicks a website gets, the higher it will rank. The MSE360 team have put in placed certain precautions to avoid anyone using this system to gain unfair advantages in the ranking of websites”.

The new search tool also has other features including changing the background image on its search web page to the user’s choice and a filter to weed out pornographic and other unwanted images. However, its combination of images with search outcomes from the internet is what is likely to take this new entrant far.
